Please select the exact number of places that you require upon booking.

We are thrilled to announce our brand new series of Art and Heritage workshops that are going to be based in historical locations in and around Eccles! These workshops are a fantastic opportunity to learn about our shared heritage and discover intriguing stories about local landmarks and venues. You will also have the chance to take part in sketching and painting activities at these locations too!

Our second session will be located at the impressive Barton Aerodrome, and we will be based in the magnificent and newly renovated Control Tower that is Grade II listed. Our class will commence with a talk by local historian Mark, before you are invited to sketch and draw the scenery, interesting vehicles and architecture.

We will hold on to your artwork so that we can have a community exhibition and coffee morning at our studio. You will then be able to take your artwork home with you after this event in January 2026.

All materials and equipment will be provided, so you just need to bring yourself! Please arrive prepared for British weather conditions as you may like to stand outside for some of your drawing time.

Please get in touch if you have any concerns about the accessibility of this event. To reach the meeting room in the Control Tower you will need to walk up a flight of stairs that may be slippery when wet. The rest of the site is reasonably flat. We are not able to provide refreshments during this session, but you are welcome to pop into the cafe/bar to purchase a hot drink for yourself.

FREE - please only book a place for yourself if you are absolutely certain that you are able to attend. We wish to offer this opportunity to as many community members as possible, and 'no-shows' and people who fail to cancel in advance of workshops impact on us being able to open up spaces to more participants.

Suitable for adults and young people who are accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Once you have booked on to the workshop, you will be added to the register and contacted nearer to the start time of the class. The message will come from info@humbugart.com and may end up in your spam folder.

Places are limited, if the website says 'Out of Stock' we are fully booked. Please only attend if you have signed up via the website - there may not be spaces available if you turn up unannounced!

Our Palette of our Past programme has been made possible from funding by the UK Government with support from Salford CVS and Salford City Council.
